Extreme Vacations in Miami Mansion Nightclub

The last thing that will go through your mind when you come to spend a Miami Vacations is that you will return to your home town with 23 stitches on your face and with the memory of been beaten by a 250 pound men.

Three University of Delaware students on spring break decided to spend their spring break vacation in a South Beach vacation rental, wile they enjoy Miami Night Life and Miami Beach Restaurants. On Friday night April 4 Miami Beach police said bouncers inside a Mansion Nightclub South Beach beat the three students.

The dispute started over a $700 bar bill at Mansion on Washington Avenue, according to police. Employees of the club, according to a police report, attacked Sean Sweeney, Trevor Costello and John Merryman, who were in Miami spring break.  The three men were kicked and punched several times. Injuries to victims included a cut to Merryman’s left side of his face, which required stitches, police said.

Eight bouncers now face charges with assault and battery. Officials at Mansion are not commenting, only saying the incident is under investigation. “We are continuing to work closely with the police regarding these claims and cannot comment further, as the police have not concluded their investigation,” stated Vanessa Menkes, vice-president of communications for the Opium Group.

Gay Vacations in Miami

In a resent post I wrote about how men should have more (man) vacations by themselves. By the comments I receive, and a second overview of my last post I realize I omitted a very popular type of man in Miami. Those how also like men. For all you out there here some great tips for Gay Miami vacations.

Miami is the winter playground for gay America. Imagine a long, perfect beach, the world’s best Art-Deco architecture, and pulsating Gay Miami nightlife. Then fill it with gorgeous people and spice it up with a little Latino culture, and you’ve got Miami Beach, more commonly known as South Beach or SoBe. It seems like everyone here is a model…or could be. It’s a very trendy place to be, and people tend to look their best. But, where to stay? The Sun City has a very well develop industry of Miami Vacation Rentals, for those of you that desire the privacy of your own furnished apartment in the hart of South Beach.
Before you head to Miami beaches, check out the Art Deco Historic District. There are guided walking tours available. But few attractions pull visitors away from the beach, and the collection of cafes, galleries, and Miami Clubs around it. Ocean Drive runs along the beach, and it’s a great place to people-watch. Lincoln Road, parallel to Ocean, is a pedestrian-only strip of Miami Restaurants and shops.

The Bass Museum of Art can be a great diversion if rain chases you indoors. Winter and early spring are undoubtedly the best times to visit gay South Beach, which is famous (or infamous) for its chain of mega-parties, which begin Thanksgiving weekend and run through Miami Spring Break, when the college crowd overruns the beaches and clubs. Summer is rainier, with little reason to attract the northern crowds (who only come in summer to escape the snow). Virtually everything gay in South Beach is clustered along Collins Avenue between Española Way and 12th Street, and there’s absolutely no reason to have a car here, you can walk everywhere.

Spring Break in Miami Drinking Binge

The Journal of Studies on Alcohol defines binge drinking as an extended period, typically at least two days, during which time a person repeatedly becomes intoxicated and gives up usual activities and obligations in order to be intoxicated. One of the commonly used thresholds for ‘binge’ drinking is 5 or more drinks for men and 4 or more for women per occasion. For a college student this could also apply to the definition of Spring Break.Let’s face it. For those of us that have been there, done that, Miami Spring Break is just a self destructive face in which you just decide to kill yourself with liquor, sex and some other things that I prefer not to talk about. But Whyyyy? Is what make me write about this.

Stupid as it might sound, I believe the more you forbid some one to do something, at 21 the forbidden is what you want to do. In 1984 the National Minimum Drinking Age Act effectively raised the minimum drinking age to 21, and as a result binge drinking became common among American young adults and minors since alcohol became viewed as a symbol of rebellion, and private, dangerous environments are for many young Americans the only place where they can access alcohol. Spring Break is the celebration off all of these behaviors.

Maybe, I am just getting old but, these are definitely no vacations at all. By the time you binge your liver to a whole week of liquor you will be so tired you will need at least a whole entire week to recuperate from your “vacation”. Young America has a tendency of defining Miami vacations with just one word “Drinking”. Let me tell you all; there is plenty more in Miami to enjoy.

East of Collins Ave is Ocean Drive, and this is where you will find the Miami you see on TV and in the movies. There are plenty of famous Miami restaurants and clubs on Ocean Drive, including Nikki Beach. Being on the Florida coast, Ocean Drive is also a great place to go people-watching during your spring break vacation.

Washington Avenue runs parallel on the other side of Collins and it is one the most famous spots in South Beach. This is where some of the world’s largest and most well-known clubs are, including Prive and Mansion. Washington Avenue is packed with party goers every night of the week from evening until early morning, and Spring Break in South Beach is definitely no exception. There are even concierges services that can get you in the clubs with no door standing.

If you are looking for cheap eats during your spring break in Miami head on over to Alton Road, where you can find plenty of fast-food joints, restaurants, and grocery stores. For art galleries, restaurants, and luxury car rentals, head north to Espanola Way. For shopping, many people consider the Lincoln Road open-air pedestrian mall to be Miami South Beach’s premiere spot.

Miami in a Motorcycle

Week ends are times when motorists hit the road and cruise the streets of Miami and South Florida. Riders get together often in small groups and drive together to have a drink, lunch or dinner.
It does not matter if you are a bikes lover with a lot of experience or if you only want to get tips about how to do quality tourism in Florida. Discovering South Florida and Miami on a 2 wheels has a total different flavor, visitors will appreciate the wonderful Art Deco Miami architecture and will discover all major Miami neighborhoods at a slow speed maximizing the sightseeing experience.
In order to rent a motorcycle in Miami, you should have in mind some interesting tips. For instance, you should check first your Miami Hotel to make sure that parking for motorcycles is offered. Also, it is strongly suggested that you plan your expeditions to avoid getting lost in dangerous Miami neighborhoods. Check on the internet the favorite spots where motorists like to hang and joined local riders to leave a comprehensive Miami rider experience. Remember do not drink and drive it is dangerous and against the law, if you are stopped by local authorities under the influence you will spend a night in jail, pay an expensive bail and hire an expensive lawyer. Even if you are from another state, or another country your might be forbidden to drive a car or a motorcycle for decades in Florida. Moreover, non-resident who may try to renew their immigrant visa could be denied based on drunk driving. Floridian residents understand the system most of the time, yet this might not be the case for a non-resident. In Miami and Florida, specialized lawyers can be hired to fight local police enforcement and are usually pretty good at reducing license’s points or more severe penalties.

Before starting the bike make sure to:

  • To start with, visitors wishing to rent a motorcycle in Miami need to be the holder of a valid driver license with motorcycle endorsement from country or state of permanent residence.
  • Usually, Miami motorcycle rental agencies require a minimum rental age of 21 years old.
  • Miami motorcycles rentals contracts generally provide unlimited mileage and basic liability insurance.
  • Most Miami motorcycle agencies request a hefty deposit up to several thousands of dollars.
  • In general, each rental agency has it own policies and requirements some decide to rent only to older drivers (above thirty) and to bikers that have at least 5 years experience.
  • The more powerful the motorcycle the more requirements are imposed by rental companies.
  • Some bike rental companies offer 24 hour road assistance and usually provide helmets with the rented bikes.

Vacation in Miami Neighborhoods

Sizzling, sun-drenched Miami is hot again — the place to be seen and to make a scene. Its heavy Latin American influence, glitterati-infused party scene, delightful art deco architecture, contemporary art boom, and beaches of white-as-bleached-teeth sand make this a city like no other.

If you are planning to relocate or travel to Miami, you are not alone. Miami-Dade County, also known as Metro-Dade County, has experienced a 20 percent growth in population over the last ten years, much of it from recent immigrants. The county now contains the second largest percentage of foreign-born residents in the United States. While the City of Miami boasts the largest population, many new residents choose to live outside the city, in surrounding municipalities and unincorporated areas of the County.

Over a dozen of different neighborhoods. They are used by the city of Miami, usually for planning purposes. Each of the Neighborhoods has a tourism office to help improve the neighborhoods travel and tourism. This is a list of the most popular neighborhoods of the City of Miami in the U.S. state of Florida.
